Tarjeta para el Día del Padre - A Father's Day card

Hoy os muestro la tarjeta para el Día del Padre, que mis peques y yo le hemos hecho al papi de casa (en Finlandia se celebra el segundo domingo de noviembre, así que mi padre no recibirá la suya hasta entonces). Así es la tarjeta por fuera:

Today I'm showing you the Father's Day card that my children and I have made for the daddy of the house (in Finland Father's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of November, so my father will have to wait until then). Here's the outside of the card:

El reto 57 de 3flowers, que nos pedía un trío de metálicos (oro, plata y bronce) fue la inspiración para esta tarjeta de monstruitos, que también aprovecho para presentar al reto mensual de Yoy Scrap, dedicado a los papis. Vamos a ver esos tonos metálicos, tan difíciles de fotografiar...

The 3flowers challenge number 57, in which they asked for a card with three metallic colours (gold, silver and bronze/copper), was the inspiration for this card, which I'm also presenting to the monthly challenge at Yoy Scrap, dedicated to our fathers. Let's have a closer look at those metallic tones, which are so difficult to photograph...

Como podéis ver los he usado para el podio, una pieza creada a mano, con papel de imitación a madera del set "Wood" Necessities de MME y polvos de embossing. Los divertidos monstruos son de Avery Elle y tenía muchas ganas de estrenarlos. Están estampados sobre cartulina Neenah y coloreados con rotuladores Copic.

As you can see, I've used them for the podium, a piece created by hand with paper from the "Wood" Necessities collection by MME and embossing powders. The fun monsters are from a set by Avery Elle and I was itching to use them. I've stamped them on Neenah cardstock and coloured them with Copic markers.

Aquí se puede apreciar un poco mejor, tanto el brillo del embossing metálico, como el de los ojos de las criaturas, cubiertos por una capa de Glossy Accents. Las letras son de Mama Elephant y las he estampado con tinta Archival negra, que me encanta.

In this picture you can see the shine of the metallic embossing, as well as of the layer of Glossy Accents applied to the eyes, a little bit better. The letters, stamped in black Archival ink, which I love are from Mama Elephant.

Tarjeta melancólica para dos retos - A melancholic card for two challenges

Aunque presento mi tarjeta para el reto 55 de 3flowers el último día, no significa que la haya hecho a toda prisa ni mucho menos... simplemente no he tenido un momento para ponerme a hacerla hasta ahora. La tenía tan pensada que ha salido sola y aquí la tenéis:

Even though I'm submitting my card for challenge number 55 at 3flowers on the last day, it doesn't mean that no though has gone into it... I just haven't been able to sit down and make it. It was so planned in my mind, that it almost made itself and here it finally is:

El reto esta vez consistía en usar un sello pequeño (o varios) para crear un fondo y un sello grande para estampar un adorno o elemento decorativo. Desde un principio sabía que quería usar este sello de hojas de Hero Arts llamado "Graphic leaves" para los elementos decorativos.

The challenge this time was to use a small stamp (or stamps) to make a background and a background stamp to make embellishments or elements for the card. From the beginning I knew that I wanted to use this "Graphic leaves" Hero Arts stamp for the foreground elements.

Estampé el sello sobre dos tonos de cartulina verde con tinta Memento "Cottage Ivy" y me puse a recortar hojas... Después entinté el borde de cada una de ellas con tinta Distress "Peeled paint" y les di forma con una herramienta de punta esférica. Las pegué con almohadillas adhesivas y quedaron así:

I stamped it on two tones of green cardstock with "Cottage Ivy" Memento ink and fussy cut a bunch of leaves which I then inked with "Peeled paint" Distress ink and shaped with a round point embossing stylus. I adhered them with thin foam squares and here's the result: 

El abedul fue cortado con un troquel de Memory box y aprovecho esta tarjeta para participar en el reto "Todo vale" de Simon Says Stamp, ya que esta vez presenta productos de esa marca que tanto me gusta. Lo he troquelado con cinta de doble cara, lo he sombreado con un Copic gris clarito y lo he pegado sobre cartulina marrón oscura para que quedara más realista.

The birch was cut with a Memory box die and I'm also submitting this card to the Simon Says Stamp "Anything goes" challenge, which is featuring products from this brand, that I so love. I die cut it with double sided tape on the back, to be able to adhere it to some dark brown cardstock and shaded it with a grey Copic marker to make it look more realistic.

Los sellos que he usado para el fondo y para estampar el erizo, son del set "More stories" de Avery Elle y el troquel de hierba es de Die-namics. He usado tinta Memento "Toffee crunch" para los elementos del fondo y "Tuxedo black" para el erizo, que además ha sido coloreado con rotuladores Copic y completado con dos gotitas de Glossy Accents.

The stamps that I used for the background and for the hedgehog are from the Avery Elle "More stories" set and the grassy border die is from Die-namics. I used "Toffee crunch" Memento ink for the background elements and "Tuxedo black" for the hedgehog, which was also coloured with Copic markers and completed with a couple of dots of Glossy Accents.

Estoy muy contenta con mi tarjeta y se la voy a mandar a mi hermana Luisa, que sigue siendo mi mejor amiga, a pesar de que nos separan 4.000 km (de ahí el título de la entrada).

I'm very happy with this card and I'm going to send it to my sister Luisa, who is still my best friend although she lives almost 2500 miles away (hence the title of this entry).
