Tarjeta no navideña para dos retos - A non Christmas card for two challenges

En medio de tanta tarjeta navideña tenía ganas de hacer algo diferente y qué mejor ocasión que una combinación de los retos de Yoy Scrap y La Pareja creativa. Os muestro la tarjeta que he hecho y ahora os cuento los requisitos de los dos retos...

I wanted to take a break from all the Christmas-themed projects and combined the challenges of Yoy Scrap and La Pareja Creativa to make the following card. I'll explain the challenges in a moment...

En el reto de noviembre de Yoy Scrap, que se acaba hoy, nos pedían una tarjeta con la temática "transportes" y el uso de algún papel estampado con letras o números, mientras que para el reto de diciembre de La Pareja Creativa había que usar esta preciosa paleta de colores:

The November challenge at Yoy Scrap, which ends today, consisted in making a transportation-themed card using a patterned paper with text or numbers, while the December challenge at La Pareja Creativa called for the use of the following palette:

  

Me gusta bastante esta tarjeta, que a pesar de no ser muy masculina, tengo pensado regalarle a mi maridito para San Valentín o en otro día cualquiera. Vamos a verla con más detalle...

I really like this card and even though it's not very masculine, I'm thinking of giving it to my husband for Valentine's Day or on some other occasion. Let's look at the details...

He usado algunos de los troqueles del set "World traveler" de Die-namics para cortar los diferentes medios de transporte de cartulina gris y azul clarito... 

I've used some of the dies from a set called "World traveler" by Die-namics to cut the different transportation elements out of grey and light blue cardstock...

Los corazones de cartón prensado, coloreados con tintas de pigmento, son de Yoy Scrap y las maderitas de Studio Calico. También he añadido un poquito de Wink of Stella en el corazón central para darle algo de brillo.

The pigment ink-coloured chipboard hearts are from Yoy Scrap and the wood veneer shapes from Studio Calico. I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the pink heart to give it some shimmer.

La caja está cortada usando un troquel de Mama Elephant que compré durante las rebajas de Black Friday y el sentimiento está embosado en color aguamarina usando sellos de La Pareja Creativa y de Lola Bailora.

The box is cut using a Mama Elephant die that I bought during their Black Friday sale and the embossed sentiment is a mixture of stamps by La Pareja Creativa and Lora Bailora. 

El banderín con el hola también es un adorno de cartulina prensada de Yoy Scrap que he teñido con tinta y el otro banderín está cortado a mano.

The ink-coloured chipboard banner is also from Yoy Scrap and the other one is cut by hand.

Una shaker muy "mona" - A shaker card with a bunch of monkeys

Hace una semana que he vuelto de mis vacaciones y no he podido publicar nada hasta hoy... Tenía muchas ganas de participar en el reto de tarjetas de Yoy Scrap en el que nos pedían animales y acuarelas y lo hago a última hora estrenando un precioso set de sellos de Waffle Flower; "Willie and friends".

I came back from my vacation a week ago and I haven't been able to post anything until today... I very much wanted to participate in Yoy Scrap's card challenge (it ends today!) in which they asked us to use watercolours and animals and I'm doing so with a brand new set of stamps from Waffle Flower; "Willie and friends". 

Para el fondo he estampado las piñas y los plátanos con Archival Ink de Ranger sobre papel de acuarela y después los he coloreado con rotuladores acuarelables Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Después he pulverizado un poco de agua sobre las imágenes para conseguir un efecto de acuarela...

For the background I stamped the pineapples and bananas with Ranger's Black Archival Ink on watercolour paper and coloured them with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Then I spritzed some water on the images to get a fun, messy effect...

  

Una vez secos, los he enmascarado para no perder el color de las frutas y he trabajo el fondo con tintas Distress azules y verdes y la técnica de "ink smooshing" (básicamente se trata de estampar con tintas, agua y acetato). ¡Me gusta mucho el resultado!

Once they were dry I masked them off so as not to lose their colour and worked the background with blue and green Distress inks and the "ink smooshing" technique (it's basically just stamping with inks, water and acetate) I love the result!

He creado el elemento shaker con un troquel de marco polaroid de Lawn Fawn, pero en lugar de usar goma eva, lo he montado con varias capas de papel de acuarela... me resulta más fácil y robusto cuando se trata de una forma tan delicada...

I made the shaker element with a polaroid die by Lawn Fawn, but instead of using fun foam, I created it with layers of watercolour paper... it was easier and the result is much sturdier when working with such a fragile shape.

He estampado la pareja de monos con tinta Memento Black Tuxedo y los he coloreado con Copics, después los he recortado y pegado encima del marco...

I stamped the two monkeys with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and coloured them with Copics, then I fussy cut them and attached them to the frame...

Sus hijitos están estampados sobre plástico retráctil semitransparente (frosted), coloreados por detrás y recortados a mano... he usado máscaras para estampar los que llevan lazo y chupetes.

I stamped the baby monkeys on frosted shrink plastic, coloured the back side and fussy cut them... I used masks to stamp the ones with dummies (pacifiers) and bows.

He embosado el mensaje en blanco sobre cartulina negra y lo he recortado a mano. "Thanks a bunch" significa muchas gracias, pero la palabra "bunch" también significa racimo, manojo o grupo de cosas o gente...

I embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock and fussy cut it. You English-speakers know the different meanings of the word "bunch", but I have explained it in Spanish... 

Con esta tarjeta también participo en el reto de noviembre de Waffle Flower... acabo de descubrir esta marca y me he enamorado! Este mes nos piden que usemos la técnica del enmascarado y al menos uno de sus productos para crear un proyecto libre. 

With this card I also participate in Waffle Flower's November Challenge... I've just discovered this brand and I've fallen in love! This month they want us to make a project using masking and at least one of their products. 

También nos dan una paletas de colores y un sketch para inspirarnos, aunque no es obligatorio usarlos.

They also give us a colour palette and sketch to inspire us although we don't have to use them if we don't want to.

Una tarjeta geométrica - A geometrical card

Últimamente uso poco papel estampado en mis proyectos... prefiero crear mis propios fondos con plantillas, troqueles, sellos o tintas Distress. Por eso el reto de tarjetas de Yoy Scrap de agosto en el que nos piden una tarjeta usando papeles con motivos geométricos y la temática de vacaciones me pareció todo un desafío...

Lately I've been using very little patterned paper in my creations... I prefer to create my own backgrounds using stencils, dies, stamps or Distress inks. That's why I found the August card challenge at Yoy Scrap, in which you have to use geometrical patterned paper and a vacation theme, especially challenging...

En mi taller econtré un papel con estampado geométrico muy discreto en blanco y gris del set "Something wonderful" de Teresa Collins que cubrí con una hoja de papel de cebolla para hacerlo todavía más discreto y para poder crear este diseño de rombos troquelados encima.

In my craft room I found a discrete geometrical pattern in white and gray from the collection "Something wonderful" by Teresa Collins that I covered with a sheet of vellum to make it even more discrete and to be able to create this design with diamonds on top of it.

Coloqué la hoja de papel de cebolla encima de una cuadrícula para que los rombos me quedaran rectos y los fui pegando con cinta de doble cara sin ningún patrón en mente...

I temporarely adhered the piece of vellum to a grid to be able to glue the diamonds on straight with no particular pattern in mind...

Usé esta bonita chapa de Yoy Scrap y un sello de Lora Bailora para escribir "Hola vacaciones" aunque me temo que este verano me quedaré sin ellas... menos mal que tengo las tardes y los fines de semanas libres para poder disfrutar del buen tiempo que estamos teniendo ^_^

I used this pretty badge from Yoy Scrap and a stamp by Lora Bailora to spell out "Hello holidays" although I'm afraid this summer I won't have any... luckily I have the afternoons and weekends off to be able to enjoy the good weather that we're having ^_^

Me gusta mucho el efecto de las diferentes texturas y grosores de las cartulinas que usé... Dos de los rombos son de cartulina cubierta con foil dorado que me sobró de un anterior proyecto. También usé unos pocos enamel dots para atraer la vista hacia el diseño geométrico de la pieza central de la tarjeta.

I like the effect of the different textures and thickness of the cardstock that I used... I used some gold-foiled cardstock that was left over from a previous project for two of the diamonds. I also used some enamel dots to draw the eye to the geometrical pattern of the central piece of the card.
