Marco de fotos personalizado - Personalised picture frame

Por fin retomo el blog después de 18 días inactivos... la verdad es que he estado preparando unos cuantos proyectos, pero no os los podré enseñar hasta febrero ;) Será un mes muy especial para mí...

I'm finally back at the blog after a break of 18 days... the truth is that I have been busy preparing quite a few projects, but I can't show them to you until February ;) It will be a really special month for me...

Hoy os muestro un marco de fotos que he decorado para Mencía, una niña que nacerá muy prontito.

Today I'm showing you a picture frame that I decorated for Mencía, a baby girl that will be born soon.

El marco está pintado con un par de capas de "Chalk paint" de La Pajarita (el tono se llama "Sweet Cream"). He decorado las letras de madera de Docrafts con diferentes retales de papeles y la técnica de decoupage, que me encanta. Cada letra lleva tres capas de Glue n' seal (una especie de barniz tipo Mod Podge) para protegerlas del polvo y de la suciedad.

The frame is painted with a couple of layers of La Pajarita "Chalk paint" (the tone is called "Sweet cream"). I've decorated the wooden letters by Docrafts with different paper scraps using the decoupage technique, which I love. Each letter has three layers of Glue n' seal protective coating.

Las figuritas de madera, que he coloreado con rotuladores y tintas, son de Artemio. No quería que sobresaliesen demasiado para que el original y bonito nombre de la niña fuese perfectamente legible.

I've coloured the veneer embellishments by Artemio with markers and inks. I didn't want them to stand out too much so that the unique and beautiful name of the baby girl would be perfectly readable.

Vuelta al cole - Back to school

Aquí llego in extremis con mi propuesta para los retos de septiembre de Scrapaddictes y La Pareja Creativa...
Here I am at the last moment with my project for the Scrapaddictes and La Pareja Creativa challenges.

He convertido una antigua bandeja de madera con patas (de esas que usan para llevarte el café a la cama el día de tu cumple) en una pizarra magnética para mi hija Iris que mañana cumple 8 añitos... Para ello, además de quitar las patas (una estaba rota), pinté el "marco" con Eggshell Designer's Paint (una especie de Chalk Paint) en un tono azul grisáceo precioso y el resto con seis (!) capas de pintura magnética y dos capas de pintura negra para pizarra de la marca Efko.
I turned an old wooden tray with legs (one of those that they use to bring you coffee on your birthday) into a magnetic chalk board for my daughter Iris, who turns eight tomorrow... Besides getting rid of the legs (one of them was broken), I painted the "frame" with Eggshell Designer's Paint (a type of chalk paint) in a gorgeous greyish blue colour and the rest with six (!) layers of magnetic paint and two layers of Efko blackboard paint. 

Para los imanes usé algunos sellos del set "Class act" de My Favorite Things que estampé con tinta Memento "Black Tuxedo" y coloreé con rotuladores Copic, a los que me estoy aficionando bastante:
For the magnets I used some of the stamps from the My Favorite Things clear stamp set "Class act" that I stamped with "Blax Tuxedo" Memento Ink and coloured with Copic markes (I'm really getting in to them).

Después pegué las imágenes sobre cartón grueso (chipboard) que troquelé con troqueles Bigz de Sizzix. Vamos a ver los imanes de cerca. Este sello de libros me encanta y creo que lo voy a usar mucho....
I then glued the images on some thick chipboard and die-cut them with Sizzix' Bigz dies. Let's take a closer look at the magnets. I really love this book stamp and I think I'll use it a lot.

El autobús escolar también es muy gracioso, pero más típico de los Estados Unidos, verdad? La próxima vez que lo use me voy a animar a dibujar unos personajes en las ventanas para darle más vidilla ^_^

The school bus is also quite funny, but more typical to the U.S., isn't it? Next time I use it, I'll try to draw some tiny characters in the windows to give it more umph ^_^

El color de la manzana me salió sorprendentemente bien... parece bastante real. Por eso decidí no añadirle una capa de Glossy Accents como había planeado hacer.

The colouring of the apple turned out surprisingly well... it looks almost real. That's why I decided not to add a layer of Glossy Accents on top of it as I had planned.

Por último el lápiz y la niña, que me recuerda mucho a Iris con su pelo liso, sus piernas largas e uniforme escolar...

Lastly the pencil and the girl, who reminds me of Iris with her straight hair, long legs and school uniform...
