Hace una semana, fue el 40 cumpleaños de mi amiga María y la felicité con una tarjeta inspirada en una creación de Susana Artacho, aprovechando el séptimo scrapliftdúo, propuesto por mi compañera de DT de Locas por el Scrap, Mireia. Ésta es mi tarjeta:
y ésta es la espectacular creación de Susana, compañera de DT de La Pareja Creativa y una de las mejores tarjeteras del país... nadie domina el color y el volumen como ella y sus tarjetas son técnicamente perfectas e increíbles.
No le cambiaría nada, pero para seguir el juego, he simplificado mi versión un poco y he cambiado un par de cosas...
Cree el fondo con tiras de washitape de purpurina plateada sobre cartulina negra. Usé dos tonos de tintas Distress (Festive berries y Picked raspberry) para recrear el panel de acuarela, que además troquelé con un troquel de falso cosido de LPC.
También usé el mismo troquel de marco polaroid de Die-namics que Susana, pero cambié el hola estampado por el número 40 en cartulina plateada, cortado con los números cosidos de LPC. Aproveché el banderín negro para embosar el "happy birthday" del set "Three amigos" de Mama Elephant, en blanco.
A lo mejor debería haber usado almohadillas adhesivas para darle más volumen a la pieza central, pero no me disgusta el resultado y María quedó encantada con su tarjeta y con su regalo handmade:

Hoy vengo con otra sorpresita... ¡En diciembre gané mi primer reto de tarjetas en EEUU! Se trata del reto de diciembre de Waffle Flower. La verdad es que sólo participamos nueve personas, pero me hizo mucha ilusión igualmente. Today I'm back with another surprise... I won my first card challenge in the US, the Waffle Flower December challenge! The truth is that only nine persons participated, but nevertheless I was very excited. Besides being able to chose a set of stamps as a prize, the girls at Waffle Flower invited me to create an inspiration project for their February challenge...

Para participar en los retos de Waffle Flower, hay que usar al menos uno de sus productos (tenéis un gran surtido en Up&Scrap) además de la técnica del mes. También nos podemos inspirar en la paleta o en el sketch del mes, aunque no es obligatorio hacerlo.
In order to participate in the Waffle Flower challenges you have to use at least one of their products as well as the technique of the month. You can also draw inspiration from the provided palette or sketch if you want to.
La técnica del mes de febrero es "inlaid die cutting" (troquelado con incrustado). Me encanta esta técnica... aquí tenéis un tutorial por si no sabéis de qué se trata.

Hace un mes hice ESTA tarjeta con un fondo de chevron... al final acabé usando un papel estampado, pero antes de tomar esa decisión hice unas cuantas pruebas con un troquel thinlits de Sizzix que conseguí al 70% del precio original, una verdadera ganga!
A month ago I made THIS card with a chevron background... I finally ended up using a patterned paper, but before making that decision I experimented with a Sizzix thinlits die that I got at a 70% discount, a real bargain!

Normalmente se usaría el negativo del papel troquelado (una sola pieza), pero como después de troquelar una cartulina color crema, las piezas sueltas seguían atrapadas en el troquel, cogí una tinta de pigmento rosa y las entinté (o al menos la parte visible).
Normally you would use the negative of the die cut paper (one single piece), but since the lose pieces were still lodged in the die after die-cutting a piece of cream-colored cardstock, I grabbed a pink pigment ink and inked them (or at least the visible part of the paper)
Después apliqué pegamento líquido por la parte de atrás de todas las piezas, coloqué el troquel sobre una base de tarjeta color kraft (últimamente estoy usando el kraft un montón) y presioné. Todas las piezas troqueladas se quedaron pegadas en la posición perfecta.
Then I applied liquid glue to the backside of all the pieces, placed the die on top of a kraft card base (lately I'ven been using kraft a lot) and pressed down. All the die cut pieces were glued in the perfect position.
Me gustó mucho el resultado y guardé la tarjeta en una caja llamada "Tarjetas en proceso" que tengo en el taller para acabar otro día.
I liked the result a lot and stored it in a box labeled "unfinished cards" that I have in my craft room to finish another day.
Ese día llegó ayer... Buscando en otra caja que tengo de descartes de proyectos anteriores, encontré este marco polaroid cortado con un troquel de Lawn Fawn de una cartulina azul clarita y la estrella rosa cortada con mi querido set de troqueles "Puffy Star Stackables", también de Lawn Fawn.
That day arrived yesterday... I went through another box, this one filled with rests of previous projects and found a polaroid frame cut with a Lawn Fawn die out of light blue cardstock and a pink star die cut with my beloved set "Puffy Star Stackables" also from Lawn Fawn.

Esta tarjeta está hecha creando un fondo con la ayuda de pequeños troqueles según instrucciones de Yana Smakula. Intenté mantener la misma distancia entre troqueles para que el resultado no fuese demasiado caótico.
For this card I made a background using small dies following the instructions by Yana Smakula. I tried to maintain the same distance between the dies so that the result wouldn't be too chaotic.
Las fotos no salieron demasiado bien así que solo quiero aclarar que se trata del espacio negativo. He guardado las formas troqueladas para hacer otra tarjeta muy pronto.
The pictures didn't turn out very well, so I just want to clarify that I used the negative space. I kept the die cut shapes to make another card really soon.
Para esta tarjeta me inspiré el el vídeo tutorial de Kristina Werner en el que agrupó unas hojas troqueladas y las adhirió de forma temporal con papel de enmascarar para troquelar un círculo y usar ese círculo para crear una tarjeta.
For this card I was inspired by Kristina Werner's video tutorial in which she grouped a bunch of die cuts (she used leaves), stuck them together using masking paper and die cut a circle to make a card.
Me gusta mucho el resultado y aunque ya le había hecho una tarjeta shaker (repetí ESTE modelo pero en rosa) a mi amiga Pilar, que tuvo su segundo bebé hace dos meses, le regalaré esta en su lugar...
I like the result a lot and even though I had already made a shaker card (I repeated THIS card but in pink) for my friend Pilar, who had her second baby two months ago, I'll give here this one in stead.
El lunes pasado fue el 12 cumpleaños de mi sobrina Sandra, que vive en Finlandia. Es una joven con mucho talento musical y esperamos que con una prometedora carrera por delante. De momento compagina la música (coro y lecciones de canto) con sus estudios y el deporte (natación sincronizada).
Last monday it was the 12th birthday of my niece Sandra, who lives in Finland. She's a young woman with a lot of musical talent and hopefully a promising carreer in front of her. At the moment she's combining music (choir and song lessons) with school and sports (synchroniced swimming).
Dibuja muy bien y cuando nos vemos siempre le gusta hacer alguna tarjeta conmigo por lo que pensé que le podría hacer ilusión un pequeño álbum para guardar fotos, recortes e impresiones de sus primeros pasos hacia el estrellato...
She draws really well and when we see eachother she always likes to make a card or two with me so I thought she would appreciate a small album to save photographs, newspaper clippings and thoughts about her first steps to stardom...

El álbum de madera es de Kaisercraft "Beyond de page file tabbed album". He usado bastantes papeles de la colección de 20cm x 20cm "Bebé niña" de Dayka Trade, para decorarlo. El título, que está en sueco, dice algo así como "Hacia el estrellato". Colgé una pequeña estrella de piel dorada en una de las anillas. The wooden album is by Kaisercraft "Beyond de page file tabbed album". I've used quite many papers from the 8" x 8" Baby Girl collection by Dayka Trade to decorate it. The title, in Swedish, says something like "Reaching for the stars". I attached a little star of golden leather from one of the binding rings.

Hace un par de años, Sandra ganó un concurso de talento escolar cantando la canción "My heart will go on" de Celine Dion y de ahí surgió todo...
A kraft pocket for keepsakes with a couple of journaling tags and to the right a large space for photos. The text says: "The first time in front of a large audience". A couple of years ago, Sandra won a talent show at her school singing Celine Dion's "My heart will go on". That's where everything started...

Una vista ampliada de la última página del álbum. Lo siento pero se me olvidó sacarle una foto a la contra portada. Usé el mismo papel que para la portada, pero no añadí ningún adorno.

Además del marrón grisáceo, he usado todos los colores de la paleta que nos proponen desde Locas por el scrap para su reto de este mes. También he usado flores, que era el segundo requisito (una flor de piel, papeles y washi floreados) para crear este mini álbum: In addition to the grayish brown, I have used all the colors in the palette presented by Locas por el scrap for their monthly challenge. I have also used flowers, which was the second requirement (one leather flower, floral patterned paper and washi tape) to make this mini album:

La idea era presentar este layout para el reto de Kimidori, una nueva tienda de material de scrapbooking muy chula, pero llegué tarde así que aprovecho para incluirlo en el reto "Anything goes" Wednesday Challenge del blog de Simon Says Stamp.
The idea was to submit this layout for the challenge on Kimidori's blog, a new cool scrapbooking store, but I was too late, so I included it in the Simon Says Stamp blog's "Anything goes" Wednesday Challenge in stead.
Me encanta este troquel de cuttlebug. Es muy versátil ya que
te permite cortar y colorear los elementos a tu gusto. Para este LO corté el
bebé de cartulina blanca y lo coloreé con Distress Ink Tattered rose (para la
piel) y "Vintage Pink” efecto tiza de Prima (para el pijamita).
I love this die by Cuttlebug. It's very versatile since it allows you to cut and color the elements exactly like you want them. For this LO I die cut the baby from white cardstock and colored it with Tattered Rose Distress ink (for the skin) and Prima's "Vintage Pink" chalk ink for the pajamas.
También le recorté la boca al bebé, dejando un pequeño diente que coloreé con bolígrafo de gel blanco. Pegué un trocito de papel negro detrás del hueco de la boca para hacer resaltar el diente.
I also cut the mouth of the baby leaving a tiny tooth that I colored with a white gel paint. On the back side of the baby's head I glued a small piece of black paper to make the tooth really stand out.
Por último recorté un pequeño cepillo de dientes de cartulina blanca que entinté con tinta pigmentada y embosé con polvos de embossing transparentes.
Lastly I cut a small toothbrush out of white cardstock, inked it with pigment ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.
Como no tenía letras adecuadas, lijé unas rojas de la
colección “Head over heels” de BoBunny, las entinté con tinta rosa y las cubrí con Glossy Accents.
Since I din't have any suitable letters, I sanded the red letters from BoBunny's "Head over Heels" collection, inked them with pink chalk ink and covered them with Glossy Accents.
No soy muy amiga del rosa, pero me gusta bastante el resultado... ¡Hasta la próxima!
